When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, timezone, and preferred delivery time. We also store your learning data: proficiency levels, vocabulary progress, message interactions, and replies.
Your data is used to: deliver personalised messages calibrated to your proficiency level; schedule message delivery at your preferred time; track your vocabulary progress through spaced repetition; and generate character responses that reference your previous conversations.
Your replies and proficiency data are sent to third-party AI providers (Anthropic for text generation, ElevenLabs for voice synthesis) to generate personalised content. These providers process your data according to their own privacy policies. We do not share your email address or account information with AI providers.
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on secure infrastructure. Audio files are stored in Amazon S3 with private access controls. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
We use: Anthropic (Claude) for message and reply generation; ElevenLabs for voice synthesis; Amazon S3 for audio storage; Google/Apple for OAuth authentication (if you choose to sign in with these providers).
You can: access your data through the Settings page; update your information at any time; delete your account and all associated data; and request a copy of your data by contacting us.
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. No advertising cookies are used.
Tomo is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us.
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice.
